I’m Holley Bishop-Mello, Brentwood born and raised, a mother, small business owner, and Human Resources professional with more than 25 years of experience working with people and solving problems.

About Holley Bishop-Mello

I was born in Brentwood and raised in East Contra Costa County, with deep family roots in the area. After spending several years in Pleasanton, I returned to Brentwood in 2017 because this has always been home.

I come from hardworking, blue-collar families who taught me the importance of hard work, responsibility, family, and building a better future for the next generation. Today, I’m the proud mother of three children, and raising them in the community where I grew up makes Brentwood’s future deeply personal to me.

Professional & Leadership Experience

I spent more than 25 years in Human Resources, leading teams, solving complex problems, managing competing priorities, and working with people across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.

I have also been a business owner for approximately 20 years and founded Holley’s Honey in 2021. Today, I’m focused on growing my business and working in agriculture—an experience that has given me firsthand insight into the challenges facing farmers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.

My career taught me leadership and problem-solving. Business ownership taught me responsibility and perseverance. Agriculture strengthened my appreciation for our community’s history and land. And years of advocacy reinforced something I strongly believe:

I’m running for Brentwood City Council District 4 to help build a safe, thriving future while preserving the heart of the Brentwood we love.

Brentwood is my hometown. It’s where I’m raising my children. And its future is worth protecting.

Community Advocacy

Long before deciding to run for City Council, I was advocating for Brentwood residents.

I have supported local businesses, city employees, emergency responders, parents, families, and members of the foster community. Over the years, residents have come to me when they need information, guidance, or simply someone willing to listen.

I have never needed an elected title to stand up for people. Running for City Council gives me the opportunity to take that advocacy further.

Why I’m Running

Brentwood is growing, and with growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. I want to help preserve what makes our community special—safe neighborhoods, strong local businesses, our agricultural heritage, and the quality of life families value.

As a mother, I also want Brentwood to remain a place where the next generation can afford to live, work, raise families, and build a future.
